CrackBerry’s Exclusive: First Real Photos of the BlackBerry 9630! (the source of the pictures on the left) has the first real photos of the BlackBerry "Niagara" 9630. CrackBerry observes that the Niagara (the middle of the three phones) looks like a combination of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 (the one on the left) and BlackBerry Bold (the one on the right). But enough about appearance. What’s under the hood?
Per BoyGeniusReport (BGR), Verizon will be the 9630’s carrier. That means CDMA 1x, EV-DO Rev. A. However, the 9630 is a Verizon World Edition. That means support also for GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS
However, Niagara’s UMTS band likely will be 2100MHz only (like the Storm), so once again no love for North America 3G
Also the Niagara, like the Storm and unlike the Bold, will not have WiFi
The release date is unknown. BGR’s guess is May/June. My experience is that BGR is right more often than it’s wrong on release dates.
